LGBTQ

As more countries are legalizing gay rights, the demand for services assisting LGBTQ families have children is growing.

The journey to have a child for a LGBTQ couple or single LGBTQ parent is challenging and costly.

KEY ASPECTS OF THE PROCESS

LEGAL

Legal services play a big part in this journey as many aspects of this process requires legal representation to protect your interest, nativagating the law and regulations in different jurisdictions, and the many legal documents involved.

SURROGACY

Finding the right surrogate is a major part of the process for gay dads. This typically involves working with a surrogacy agency to find the right surrogate or finding one through one’s family or friends.

This process is not needed for lesbian moms as a surrogate is typically not needed to carry the child.

EGG DONOR/SPERM DONOR

Finding the egg donor or sperm donor can be done through an agency, the fertility clinic if there is an onsite donation program, or an egg/sperm bank. The intended parent is matched with a donor based on the criteria chosen by the intended parent.

FERTILITY CLINIC

The fertility clinic provides the clinical services in this process. In vitro fertilization is done by the clinic and can provide the egg or sperm through a donation program. The surrogacy agency will typically work with the clinic to help with the pregnancy process.
